Frequently asked questions (faq)
What can we Expect?
We are a private charter boat and not a head (or cattle) boat. We carry up to six passengers which therefore allows us to give you the custom trip of your desires.
Is Tackle Supplied?
Yes, you may bring you own tackle but we have state of the art trolling and bottom fishing tackle as well as surface fly line tackle available for you to use. We have custom made Pen International trolling reals and all rods built by David Teague with Unreel Custom Rods.
Will I Get Seasick?
Probably not, Miss Sandy is one of the most stable boats in the harbor which consequently eliminates much of the turbulence experienced on lighter boats. If you are concerned about becoming seasick, your physician can prescribe a patch that eliminates the possibility.
Do We Clean Our Fish?
No, bring your cooler and we will clean and bag your fish for you. You may take your fish straight off the dock into one of the local restaurants, such as AJ’s and Lucky Snapper, for them to prepare your fish for you. There’s no better fish to eat than fish that slept in the Gulf last night!
What If I’ve Never Fished Off-shore?
No problem, captains and crew will give a fishing school on the way out.
Can Children Fish?
Yes, many valued customers bring children and grandchildren and often they catch the largest fish.
Where is Miss Sandy Located?
MISS Sandy is located at the Harbor Walk Marina beside the Emerald Grande.
What about the BP Oil Spill?
After the BP Oil Spill, MISS Sandy volunteered to help clean up the spill which was a success. Currently, there is no oil anywhere near the port of Destin.
