About the boat

Miss Sandy is a 50 foot custom-built Harkers Island. She weighs 20 tons and carries twin Detroit High Tower engines which can propel the boat up to 18 knots.

For your safety and communication in regards to weather changes, we carry single sideband radios which can contact any port internationally. Miss Sandy is also outfitted with three state of the art VHF radios for safety and communications locally and on land.

The boat was completely remodeled in 2011 including installation of high intensity underwater lighting for tuna, swordfish, shark, or overnight trips. During the remodel, state of the art fish-finding and navigational devices including radar and auto pilot were also installed. Additionally, custom railing and a cobia tower were installed by D.W. Armstrong Ent. Inc.

The boat contains all of the comforts necessary to make you feel at home including inline water heaters for showers, sinks, and restroom usage. We have a fridge and freezer on board for your convenience so you can keep your drinks cool during the day (please no glass bottles on board).

While we do not supply electric reels, we do, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, supply stern plug-ins to accommodate handicapped individuals who wish to use electric reels. We are one of few boats that accommodate the Americans with Disabilities Act to its fullest extent.
